Ohio offers plenty of variety. Choose between the thrill of the big city in Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland; the vast expanses of the prairie land or the forests and hills of the Appalachian region.

Roller coaster fans will love Cedar Point Amusement Park near Cleveland, which boasts some of the most daring rides in the USA. After dark, head to the Warehouse District for the city's hottest clubs, bars and restaurants. Visitors to the city can also enjoy outdoor activities set around the enchanting Lake Erie. The lake is an enormous expanse of water. Visit the imposing Marblehead Lighthouse and see how the keeper lived in days gone by or hire a kayak and paddle the serene waters. Wildlife enthusiasts will find much of interest at the Black Swamp Bird Observatory. Perry's Cave Family Fun Center is a great place to take the kids. Here you can explore the limestone cave, see the underground lake and learn about minerals and precious stones.

Appalachian Ohio is the place to come for outdoor activities, set amongst natural wonders and dense forests. Much of the landscape is protected with state park status and quiet spots can be found for fishing, hiking and boating. To really experience the tranquility of the wild, try camping or cycling along the miles of deserted trails. For horse riding, try Shawnee State Forest with its 75 miles of bridleways. Golf and tennis are also available nearby.

Local culture is as diverse as the local population. Explore the charming German Village area of Columbus where the architecture and local foods have a distinctly German flavour. In April, Cleveland is alive to the sounds of Jazz in the Tri-C JazzFest and in Dayton, discover the history of aviation at the enormous United States Air Force Museum.
